GameStop Announces Updates to Mobile App For iPhone and Android Devices

New App Brings Heightened Level of Customer Engagement through Enhanced Personalization Capabilities, Innovative Features, and User-Friendly Interface

GRAPEVINE, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 9, 2014-- GameStop, a family of specialty retail brands that makes the most popular technologies affordable and simple, announces the first in a series of updates to its GameStop app on mobile devices, and a chance for users who download the new app to win 1,000,000 PowerUp Rewards™ points.

To celebrate the launch of the new GameStop mobile app, new and existing app users who load the app during the month of October and sign in with their PowerUp Rewards account will be automatically entered to win 1,000,000 PowerUp points. Points can be used to buy digital items and physical merchandise from the PowerUp Rewards catalog accessible within the app and on www.gamestop.com.

Available now in the U.S., customers using the GameStop app for iPhone® and Android™ can browse GameStop’s extensive product selection and experience an enhanced PowerUp Rewards dashboard. The new app features:

  • A new and improved user interface
  • A Trade Center that enables users to receive trade price estimates for their games and electronics before they head to the store
  • Expanded game library capabilities that enable users to manage their online library of games, as well as list games they want from within the app
  • Enhanced “Pick up at Store” functionality - easily check product availability and hold an item at a store for pick up at a later time
  • Quick access to PowerUp Rewards account information as well as browsing and purchasing capabilities of the online PowerUp Rewards catalog within the app
  • Enhanced account management, including viewing in-store offers, accessing digital purchases, and managing console and store preferences
  • Robust content, videos and images of popular games and electronics
  • Store locator capabilities while on the go, allowing customers to search for the nearest GameStop store
