midnight events for the launch of Halo 3: ODST, the latest
edition in the iconic Halo franchise. More than 3,600 U.S.
locations will kick off the festivities on Monday, Sept. 21, 2009,
counting down to the first sale of ODST at 12:01 a.m. with:

Warthog Race – Show off your
“Halo road skills” by maneuvering pedal-powered go-carts and
radio-controlled cars through a ‘Warthog” race obstacle course.

Halo Trivia contest – How well
do you know the history and facts surrounding the Halo campaign? Test
your knowledge in fun trivia contests that will weed out casual Halo
gamers and show everyone who the hard-core Halo fans are.

Character Dress-up Contest –
Prove you are the ultimate Halo aficionado by suiting up like a
Spartan or a Shock Trooper.
Customers who pre-order Halo 3: ODST from GameStop will receive a
token to unlock Sgt. Johnson as a playable character in Firefight, a new
cooperative multiplayer mode where up to four players can assume the
role of an ODST squad and fight together to take on increasingly
challenging waves of enemies. Tokens available, while supplies last.
Most participating GameStop locations will begin their countdown to
launch at 9:00 p.m. local time; however, customers are encouraged to
contact their local store to confirm the exact time of the event.
