Special Launch Events with Radio Remotes, Giveaways and Contests
Scheduled for Select Stores in Texas, Arizona and California to
Highlight Spanish-Language Music Video Game
GRAPEVINE, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 3, 2009--
GameStop Corp. (NYSE:GME), the world’s largest video game and
entertainment software retailer, announced it is the exclusive North
America retail distributor for the launch of SingStar Latino, a
Spanish-language music video game published by Sony Computer
Entertainment that is now available nationwide.
SingStar Latino makes its debut for the PlayStation 2 and
PlayStation 3 systems with 30 chart-topping Spanish-language singles and
music videos from today’s hottest Latin artists and legends including
David Bisbal, Natalia Lafourcade, Jon Secada and others. As with
previous SingStar titles, SingStar Latino creates an interactive
social singing experience by incorporating technology that recognizes
the player’s pitch, tone and rhythm to accurately score them as they
perform to real songs and music videos. The game also features various
game play modes such as solo, duet, multi-player and party modes that
increase overall player enjoyment.
“GameStop is heavily invested in the Hispanic community and
Spanish-language customers, and we’re excited to be the exclusive retail
launch partner for SingStar Latino at the start of our holiday
shopping season,” said Paul Raines, GameStop’s chief operating officer.
“No doubt, this high-quality interactive game will appeal to
Spanish-language teens and young adults who have been somewhat
overlooked by the music gaming genre to this point.”
SingStar Latino for PlayStation 3 ($39.99) and PlayStation 2
($29.99) are now available at select GameStop stores across the country
and on www.GameStop.com.
The microphone accessory is sold separately. GameStop is also hosting
special SingStar Latino launch events at select stores this week
in Austin, Texas, Phoenix, Ariz., and Sacramento, Calif., featuring top
Spanish-language radio stations, giveaways and contests.
The game is rated “T” for teen for content that may be suitable for ages
13 and older. For more information, visit www.GameStop.com.
