Aerosmith Guitarist Joe Perry Joins GameStop to Launch Guitar Hero(R) III: Legends of Rock
NEW YORK, Oct 30, 2007 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Legions of screaming fans turned out to see legendary guitarist, Joe Perry of Aerosmith, at GameStop's flagship New York City store on Sunday, October 28, 2007. The rocking release party and face-off tournament featured Activision's Guitar Hero(R) III: Legends of Rock at GameStop (NYSE:GME), the world's largest video game and entertainment software retailer.

Throngs of aspiring rock legends came out to show their skills in a live Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock face-off tournament. Perry, who has sold more than 100 million albums worldwide and been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame with Aerosmith, rocked out with the fans as a judge in the tournament and signed scores of games and guitar controllers.

The Guitar Hero(R) franchise has become a pop culture phenomenon. Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock will include explosive new content and features including a multiplayer action-inspired battle mode, grueling boss battles, a host of exclusive unlockable content and visually stunning rock venues. Fans will tear it up with master tracks from some of the most legendary rock artists in music such as Aerosmith, Metallica, The Rolling Stones, Smashing Pumpkins, Guns N' Roses, The Sex Pistols, Rage Against the Machine, and others. Expanded online multiplayer game modes will also allow fans worldwide to compete head-to-head for true legendary rock status. Fresh downloadable content will also be offered on multiple platforms, and players can now shred to a killer set list from many of the most popular rock songs ever recorded.

For the first time ever, Guitar Hero fans will also be able to thrash and burn with new wireless guitar controllers available for each platform, including exclusive Gibson Guitar's Les Paul model for the Xbox 360(R) video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, Wii(TM) home video game system from Nintendo, and PLAYSTATION(R)3 computer entertainment system. PlayStation(R)2 computer entertainment system gamers will also get to shred on a new exclusive shape, Gibson's Kramer guitar, popularized by hard rockers and known for its body design, pickups, electronics and construction for furious finger fretting.
