games, is hosting midnight launch events for the North American release
of the PS4™ system on Thursday, November 14 leading into the
console’s official launch day on Friday, November 15.
GameStop is expecting thousands of eager fans to fill its more than
4,200 participating stores as they wait to be among the first to get
their hands on the new console.
“The future of video gaming is here and we couldn’t be more excited to
be leading it,” said Bob Puzon, senior vice president of merchandising
at GameStop. “Our knowledgeable associates and our unique trade programs
make us the most convenient and affordable place to purchase everything
that you need for a great gaming experience.”
Events begin at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 14 and beginning at
12:01 a.m. on Friday, November 15, GameStop will begin distributing the
PS4 system to its customers.
GameStop is celebrating the launch of the PS4 system at its West Coast
flagship store on Market Street in San Francisco and all across the
U.S., where PlayStation fans will find contests, prizes, live music and
food trucks throughout the night at their local GameStop. Select stores
will also have PS4 demo units available to play, providing gaming fans
the chance to experience the PS4 system before it is officially released.
The new, innovative system will have more than 20 first and third-party
titles launching on day one, including more than a dozen disc-based
games available for purchase or pre-order from GameStop. The line-up
encompasses the most popular game genres and titles, such as PlayStation
exclusive Killzone™ Shadow Fall, Activision’s Call of Duty®:
Ghosts, EA’s Battlefield 4™, and Ubisoft’s Assassin’s
Creed IV Black Flag as well as new intellectual properties to be
released exclusively on the PS4 system, including PlayStation exclusive Knack™.
Customers can also purchase related accessories, such as the DUALSHOCK®4
wireless controller, headsets and more, while at the events so they are
fully prepared to game when they get home that night.
While demand is extremely high, customers who did not pre-order a
console are encouraged to contact their store location or www.gamestop.com
to check availability.
