Fund already benefitting associates affected by Hurricane Isaac

GRAPEVINE, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sep. 27, 2012-- GameStop (NYSE: GME), the world’s largest multichannel retailer of video games, today announced the creation of The Gamer Fund. The Gamer Fund has been established to provide temporary relief and meet the basic needs of GameStop associates who are facing hardships from tragic and isolated events. Endowed with seed donations from GameStop’s founders and senior management team, The Gamer Fund will be fully run and funded by GameStop associates.

This employee-sponsored charitable organization provides financial grants to assist with short-term needs due to an unforeseen emergency or hardship. These events can include, but are not limited to, the loss of a home due to fire, a death of a loved one or a natural disaster.

A recent example of the fund at work is the support given to those affected by Hurricane Isaac.”
